Documentation can be found at http://github/MetsExport/ Dmitri Mendeleev's Expedition to Klin to Observe the Total Solar Eclipse of 19 August, 1887 The renowned Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev ascended in a hot balloon in a field near Klin to observe this eclipse. Despite that Mendeleev had never manoeuvred an air ballon before, the rainy weather forced him to fly alone.
